A research conducted by accounting and consultancy firm Grant Thornton International shows Philippines is eight among the countries hosting companies with “super growth” status. The number of Asian-owned businesses grew 24 percent between 1997 and 2002, approximately twice the national average for all businesses. The 1.1 million businesses generated more than $326 billion in revenues, up 8 percent from 1997.
